“She has been feeling it for awhile now – that sense of awakening. There is a gentle rage simmering inside her, it is getting stronger by the day. She will hold it close to her – she will nurture it and let it grow. She won’t let anyone take it away from her. It is her rocket fuel and finally, she is going places. She can feel it down to her very core – this is her time. She will not only climb mountains – she will move them too.”

Almost 2 years ago I began a daily photography project called a “365 day project”. This is where I take a photo every day pertaining to a given word prompt for that day and then post it to Instagram.
There were several group projects to choose from, but I ended up going with The Bethadilly Challenge.
Not only have I met some of the most amazing and talented people in this lovely group of photographers, but I have discovered more of myself than I ever thought I would. I started the project because I had this sense of wanting to awaken more to life … awaken to more of what I am and what I am capable of as a human being; how much more I could accept and love myself for who I am.
During this project there is at least one “self portrait” prompts per month … these were VERY strange to do at first. I mean, I’M not supposed to be in front of the camera!! Right?!? WRONG. Getting in front of the camera and not hiding behind it has been one of the most exhilarating things I have gotten over.
“A beautiful person is not defined by a hair style, a pair of shoes, it’s not the logos on the the t-shirts, the designer’s name on a hand bag, or even how you smell.
Instead, beauty lies in who you are when no one is watching, the person you are when there is nothing to hide behind. No amount of concealer can cover up a cantankerous heart, but all the make-up in the world can’t add a single lumen to the brightness of a beautiful soul.”

“If you inherently long for something, become it first.
If you want gardens, become the gardener.
If you want love, embody love.
If you want mental stimulation, change the conversation.
If you want peace, exude calmness.
If you want to fill your world with artists, begin to paint.
If you want to be valued, respect your own time.
If you want to live ecstatically, find the ecstasy within yourself.
This is how to draw it in day by day, inch by inch.”
