Get your skin glowing and summertime ready with this super simple bath salts recipe. Make it for yourself or package it in adorable little test tubes decorated with a ribbon or antique button for someone who deserves a little TLC. (Yields about 2 cups.)

To whip up your own refreshing summer blend, you’ll need:

  • 1/4 cup of Epsom salts (soothes muscles and detoxifies)
  • 1/4 cup Dead sea salt
  • 1/4 cup of Himalayan pink salt or sea salt (mineral-rich relaxation)
  • 10 drops of lemon or your favorite essential oil (try lavender for calm or citrus for energy)
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda (softens skin)
  • Dried herbs of choice
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Funnel
  • A small jar or container for storage (Test tubes with cork stoppers work great for gifts!)
  • Straw/skewer
  • Twine
  • Antique or any other wanted decorations

How to Make Your Own DIY Summer Bath Salts

  1. Combine the Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine Epsom salts, Himalayan pink salt, and baking soda. Stir well.

Mix all the of the salts in the large mixing bowl and blend thoroughly. Sprinkle the dried herbs into the salts. Add 10 drops of lemon essential oil to the mixture and stir thoroughly to disperse the scent throughout the salt and herbs.

Use the funnel to fill the test tubes with the salt mixture. Larger flowers might need to be coaxed into the tube with the straw or skewer. Insert the cork stopper, wrap the test tube with twine, and finish with an antique button or decoration.
